Dental Specialties
At our dental office, many specialized treatments and procedures are offered that allow you a comfortable experience, while taking care of total body health. Those with sleep apnea can be treated with dedicated appliances, while those with dental emergencies can expect same-day treatment.
Each dentist at our office is here to ensure you get whatever treatment is needed to keep you in excellent dental health. As a family dental office, we always strive to be a relaxed and comfortable destination for all of your dental health care needs. To see what we offer regarding specialized treatments, you can skim the list below.
Night Guards
Our night guards are built for patients like you, who often have problems with grinding their teeth while asleep. Teeth grinding, also called bruxism, is relatively common with about 10 to 15% of adults engaging in the practice.
While there are multiple ways to treat the problem, the most common is a nightguard. This is a dental appliance that you wear while sleeping. The night guards offered by Dr. Brian Kynaston, Dr. Matthew Perry, and Dr. Seth Prochaska are high-quality and provide a great fit, so you will barely even notice you are wearing one.
What a night guard does is help to prevent your teeth surfaces from grinding together. This grinding can cause your teeth to crack or chip and put unwanted strain on the muscles of your jaw. There are other treatments for bruxism, and any of the dentists would be happy to go over them with you to find the right solution for your nighttime grinding.

Dental Emergency
As dental professionals, the staff believes that nobody should have to suffer through dental pain, which can be hard to handle, to say the least. That is why we offer same-day service for dental emergencies.
There are many reasons why you might require same-day dental care. Some of the most common include abscessed teeth, infected or swollen gums, and tooth decay. Other things that can be a priority include lost crowns, loose fillings, broken dentures, or chipped teeth. Any of these issues can lead to more significant problems down the line, which we strive to avoid.
If you are experiencing a dental emergency, we recommend that you call us or visit the office as soon as possible. While you can choose to go to the emergency room, when it comes to dental problems, we are more equipped and skilled to handle the situation. You may find momentary pain relief at a hospital, but the underlying reason for the pain is what ultimately needs to be addressed.

Oral Surgery
We can provide oral surgery procedures to help treat infections or trauma, relieve pain, and otherwise restore dental function. One of the most common forms of oral surgery is tooth extraction. This may be required if you have an impacted wisdom tooth, an extremely decayed tooth, or overcrowded teeth that are causing alignment problems.
We can also fit you with dental implants, which are placed under the gum and into the jawbone. This is a minor surgical option that is used to attach a manufactured tooth to replace one that has been lost. The teeth associated with implants can be made in the same shade of your natural teeth and will be unnoticeable to others when you eat, talk, or smile.
When you come in for oral surgery, you will be taken through a process of diagnosis and planning for treatment. The dentist will explain your options and what the procedure will entail. You will be a part of the process from beginning to end.
Children’s Dentistry
Our dentists all provide many family dental services and work with children of all ages. Whether you have a little one who has just pushed through a first tooth or a teenager with a cavity, we are happy to help you and your kids in pursuit of excellent dental health. No matter what your child needs, we will happily provide it and in an environment that is safe and comfortable.
Children’s dentistry has many benefits, not the least of which is that your child will grow up unafraid of dental procedures. The dentists do everything possible to make all appointments as pleasant as possible. In addition, we believe in the importance of teaching children the value of good oral hygiene and will work with them to understand the proper way to brush and floss, as well as tips for keeping their teeth clean and white.
Laser Dentistry
Laser dentistry is a modern practice in which a laser is used to produce an intense beam of light. This light causes a reaction when it comes in contact with tissue, which makes it possible to shape or remove tissues. While lasers have been around in dentistry since the 1990s, they have recently been used in many more treatment procedures and offer an excellent alternative to some traditional dental methods.
When using a dental laser, a dentist may not be required to administer anesthesia or use a drill, which can make the entire process a more comfortable one. In addition, procedures done by laser allow for a precision that was previously impossible. Lasers can also help with lessening healing times, as the laser can stop bleeding and promote healing. This makes it ideal for busy individuals who cannot take much time off to recover following a dental appointment.

Sleep Apnea
Another specialized service offered is help for sleep apnea. Sleep apnea is a disorder where a person stops breathing during the night due to an obstruction to the airway. This can lead to up to ten seconds without oxygen and result in gasps or choking sounds as the individual starts to breathe again. It can be a terrifying situation for the person with the disorder and anyone who sleeps in bed with them.
There are dental appliances which can be used to assist in rectifying this problem. In many cases, patients will require a continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) device, which blows pressurized air into a mask which goes into the lungs. However, those with less severe sleep apnea may use specific dental devices to assist with the problem.
Our dentists will determine what sort of support you need for your sleep apnea and work with you to find a solution that fits your needs.

If you have worries about how people perceive your smile but would prefer not to use braces, there is another option available to you. Invisalign is a competitive orthodontic option that is recommended by many dentists. Any of the excellent dentists can walk you through this treatment process and journey to straighter teeth.
Sedation Dentistry
Another effective specialized procedure offered, is sedation dentistry. This is provided for individuals who have anxiety or fear about visiting the dentist. Two types of dental sedation are offered, inhaled nitrous oxide and oral medication. Your dentist will work with you to determine the best option for your needs.
